JOB SUMMARY
The Direct Sales Representative is responsible for generating new business and growing revenue with organizational clients. This is a quota-carrying, individual-contributor role that manages the full sales cycle: building a targeted pipeline, responding to qualified inbound interest, leading discovery, shaping the right solution, developing proposals, negotiating and closing business.
The representative will sell Emergenetics solutions to HR, Learning & Development, talent, team and business leaders through a consultative approach. Success requires disciplined prospecting, strong commercial judgment, accurate CRM management and close partnership with Marketing, Client Experience, Delivery and Finance to create an excellent customer experience from first conversation through handoff and expansion.
CORE JOB DUTIES
- Meet or exceed assigned revenue, new-business and pipeline-generation goals.
- Build and manage a healthy pipeline through consistent outbound prospecting, follow-up on qualified inbound leads, referrals, events and re-engagement of prior prospects.
- Research and prioritize target organizations and buyers, tailoring outreach to relevant business and people-development needs.
- Lead effective discovery conversations to understand the client’s goals, stakeholders, timing, budget, decision process and measures of success.
- Recommend and clearly communicate the Emergenetics solution that best fits the client’s needs; avoid over-customization that does not add customer or business value.
- Develop clear scopes, proposals and commercial terms in partnership with internal teams; confidently present, negotiate and close opportunities.
- Manage each opportunity from first contact through signed agreement and clean handoff, maintaining momentum and setting clear next steps.
- Identify appropriate opportunities for account growth, additional teams or divisions, renewals and re-engagement in coordination with Client Experience.
- Maintain complete, timely and accurate records in HubSpot, demonstrating strong CRM discipline across contacts, activities, deal stages, close dates, next steps and forecast categories.
- Provide reliable weekly pipeline and forecast updates, surface risks early and use performance data to improve conversion and sales effectiveness.
- Collaborate with Marketing on lead quality, campaigns, messaging and market feedback, and with Delivery and Client Experience to ensure solutions can be delivered successfully.
- Represent Emergenetics with credibility, curiosity and integrity in every client interaction.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant professional experience.
- 3-5+ years of B2B consultative sales experience in a quota-carrying role, ideally selling professional services, learning and development, talent management, assessment, HR or related solutions.
- Experience engaging, prospecting and selling to VP and C-level leaders across HR, Talent, Learning & Development and business functions.
- Demonstrated ability to create pipeline through outbound prospecting as well as convert inbound opportunities.

- Strong organization, follow-through and personal accountability in a fast-moving, lean environment.
- Proficiency with HubSpot or a comparable CRM, including consistent activity and opportunity management.

- Comfort using sales data and conversion metrics to manage priorities and improve performance.
- Ability to travel domestically as needed for client meetings, events and team gatherings.
PROVEN TRACK RECORD IN
- Consistently achieving or exceeding individual sales targets.
- Building qualified pipeline rather than relying solely on assigned or inbound leads.

- Building trust with senior HR, Learning & Development, talent and business stakeholders.
