employed practice. The ideal candidate
is BC/BE in Urology, new residents and fellows are welcome. Must be comfortable performing all standard
urology procedures. There is the possibility of some sub-specialization to
accommodate specific interests. Large referral base covering 14 counties. Full-service hospital
inclusive of cardiovascular, cardiothoracic and neurosurgery services.

The Hospital
The medical center is a 247-bed regional referral center servicing more than 350,000 residents in the region. With over 200 physicians in 40 different medical and surgical specialties, the hospital offers patients the same kind of care they can expect in a larger metropolitan area including specialty services that include cardiology, electrophysiology, cardiac and thoracic surgery, vascular surgery, pulmonology, cancer treatment, orthopedics, physical rehabilitation and neurosurgery.
In addition to a 228,000 square foot $80 million patient tower that opened in 2009, the Center completed expansions of it’s emergency department to include 37 beds and surgery department to include 12 state-of-the-art OR suites. In 2013 we received the Distinguished Hospital Award for Clinical Excellence from Healthgrades in 2013, placing it among the five percent of hospitals in the nation. We’ve also been named one of America’s 100 Best Hospital for cardiac, orthopedic and spine surgery programs and ranked number one in Tennessee for Overall Cardiac Services, Coronary Intervention, Overall Orthopedic Services and Joint Replacement.

Community
The City is only 80 minutes from Nashville and serves as the county seat. The city population is over 33,000. Enjoy a wide variety of recreational and cultural opportunities are provided by local governments, the state park system, civic clubs and community organizations. Experience a 260-acre park with a 56-acre lake is owned and operated by the city, Three state parks offer many camping, picnicking, hiking, and other recreational opportunities. Three Corps of Engineer lakes, with over 1,200 miles of shorelines, are within a 30-minute drive. The area is replete with hills, trails, caves, lakes and streams for hikers, bikers, climbers, spelunkers and horseback riders. The Performing Arts Center offers a full schedule of touring plays and performances plus presentations by the Summer and Children’s Theatre. The Community Symphony has been in operation since 1963 and presents several concerts each year. Choose between twenty golf courses to play within 20 minutes of town.
The Recreation Department, Leisure Services Department and the YMCA work together to provide
a comprehensive recreational program. There are over 100 active civic clubs and
community organizations in the county. Enjoy the SportsPlex, a complete softball and baseball complex with four adult
fields and four youth fields, hosts many major tournaments throughout the year,
as well as spring and fall softball leagues.
The county Board of Education operates fourteen schools with an enrollment of approximately 9,200 students. Six elementary schools, (grades Kindergarten to 4th), two middle schools, (grades 5 and 6 and grades 7 and 8), an alternative school, and a high school (grades 9 to 12), and an adult high school are located in the city. The high school is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. The High School serves as a comprehensive vocational education center for all County Schools. Since 1989, the county has received the Governor’s A+ Award for Excellence in Education, and ACT scores of students are above the national average. In addition, two state-supported vocational schools serve the area.
