This employed outpatient opportunity is located only one hour from Charleston!  The draw area is 180,000 from southwestern West Virginia and Eastern Kentucky providing for a very busy patient base. Teaching and lecturing available to rotating medical students and PA's. The Medical Office Building was updated and remodeled for different services, and in the hospital the third, fourth and fifth floors were brought up to date along with many other renovations.

The Hospital

The hospital is a 140-bed, Joint Commission-accredited acute care facility and physician practices that serves southern Wester Virginia and Eastern Kentucky. The hospital has four operating rooms with room for expansion. Medical staff consists of 79 physicians covering 23 specialties. Over the last five years we have invested in new technology, new ER & Women's Center and new MRI. PACS technology is accessible from your home with a 27 person Radiology group that provides 24/7 coverage. We continue to grow as in 2006 a start of the art 22 bed Emergency Services Center was built as well as Womens Services Center.  In the Womens Center LRMC offers private rooms with walk in showers, 3 Labor and Delivery Rooms, and much more.  Cath Lab was added in the main hospital in June 2011. 

The Community

The city is alive with special events throughout the year, including live outdoor dramas in summer at the Amphitheater, a Civil War reenactment each September and the an Encampment in October, featuring daily frontier living, exhibits by artisans and craftsmen and “Buckskinners” portraying characters from the late 18th century. During the holiday season, the State Park becomes a winter wonderland, with a beautiful light display.  Two local colleges offers two-year associate degrees, in addition to certificates in more than 20 technical and occupational career fields.  Camping, fishing, golfing, hiking, mountain biking, skiing, tennis, youth soccer leagues and more – West Virginia has it all. The 4,000-acre State Park offers a 25-site campground, modern restaurant, picnic shelters, playground, swimming pool, tennis, miniature golf, outdoor amphitheater, conference center and wildlife center. Horseback riding is another popular pastime, with park stables providing horses.
