Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Metal Building Detailer to join our dynamic team in a 100% remote, full-time position. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating detailed drawings and 3D models for complete metal building systems, ensuring precise fabrication and seamless field construction.

Key Responsibilities:

Design & Detailing:

• Detail all components of metal building systems including primary steel framing, secondary steel framing, wall panel systems, roof panel systems, and associated flashings and trims
• Create construction anchor bolt drawings and permit/approval drawings
• Develop electronic 3D models of custom building systems using advanced 3D drafting software
• Produce comprehensive shop drawings and reports for fabrication and production teams
• Generate erection drawings and detailed bills of materials for field construction

Quality & Process Management:

• Collaborate with the Drafting Group to deliver safe, accurate, and timely shop drawing packages
• Drive quality improvement, throughput optimization, and efficiency initiatives
• Maintain industry-standard drawing quality while meeting aggressive lead time requirements
• Manage drafting schedules to meet both internal and external customer deadlines
• Develop, maintain, and continuously improve detailing policies, procedures, and best practices
• Review and approve shop drawings ensuring accuracy and completeness
• Provide specialized non-standard detailing support to internal and external customers
• Evaluate and implement strategic plans to increase shop drawing production capacity

Required Qualifications:

• Proficiency in MBS Software (MBSWEB) OR TEKLA
• Demonstrated experience detailing Metal Roofing Systems and Pre-Engineered Metal Buildings or Structural Steel in Commercial Building Construction. 
• Strong understanding of structural steel detailing principles
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Background in Pre-engineered metal building detailing and checking with proficiency in Tekla and metal building software. 
• Knowledge of building codes and construction standards
• Previous experience in metal building industry
