Director of Operations
Our client, a fast-growing freight brokerage, is hiring a Director of Operations to lead and build out its Operations department. This is not a keep-the-lights-on job. You'll build the systems, coach the people, and fix problems before they reach customers, so the department keeps up as the company grows.
The role
You'll lead the entire Operations department: Operations Reps, Operations Customer Success Managers, and Carrier Safety & Compliance. You own day-to-day execution, sit in Leadership Team meetings, and work closely with Sales.

- Set clear expectations and hold people to them, including tough personnel calls when needed.
Daily operations
- Oversee freight operations across every customer account.
- Find bottlenecks and fix them for good. Standardize workflows and write SOPs that scale.
- Track department KPIs and act on trends early.
Sales and customers
- Be the bridge between Sales and Ops.
- Tighten customer onboarding and account handoffs so expectations are clear and delivered.
- Partner with Sales leadership to solve customer problems.
Carriers and compliance
- Watch carrier capacity across key markets and lanes, and flag market shifts before they hit customers.
- Support carrier development.
- Back the Carrier Safety & Compliance Manager, keep the carrier vetting SOP followed, and review audits and compliance reporting.
Leadership
- Present Ops KPIs, wins, problems, and plans to the Leadership Team.
- Help set annual operational goals and priorities.
