The Enterprise Data Architect, Data Governance & Information Architecture leads the strategy, governance, and lifecycle management of enterprise data assets. This role is responsible for establishing data governance frameworks, information architecture standards, data classification policies, and data quality initiatives that ensure data is secure, compliant, trusted, and accessible. Working across business and technology teams, the architect drives data stewardship, information protection, regulatory compliance, and enterprise data maturity to support analytics, AI, and digital transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and maintain enterprise data governance, information architecture, and data management standards.
  • Establish data classification, protection, privacy, retention, and lifecycle management practices.
  • Lead initiatives focused on data quality, metadata management, lineage, stewardship, and master data management.
  • Partner with business, security, compliance, and technology teams to mitigate data risk and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Develop data strategies, reference architectures, governance processes, and best practices that improve the value and trustworthiness of enterprise data.
  • Provide leadership, education, and executive guidance on data governance, information management, and data-driven decision making.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Management, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in Enterprise Data Architecture, Data Governance, Information Management, or related disciplines.
  • Strong knowledge of data governance, data quality, metadata management, data classification, privacy, security, and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience leading enterprise-wide governance initiatives and collaborating with executive stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and relationship management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree or relevant industry certifications.
  • Experience with cloud data platforms, enterprise data management tools, and modern analytics environments.
  • Familiarity with data governance frameworks such as DAMA-DMBOK, NIST, ISO 27001, and privacy regulations.
  • Experience supporting AI, analytics, and digital transformation programs through strong data governance and information management practices.
