Job Title: AWS Cloud Infrastructure Engineer
Location: Houston, Texas
Summary:
We are seeking an experienced AWS Engineer with a strong background in IT infrastructure and a proven track record of designing, deploying, and managing cloud solutions on Amazon Web Services. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of overall IT experience, with at least 5–8 years dedicated to architecting, implementing, and optimizing AWS environments for enterprise-scale organizations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, deploy, and manage scalable, secure, and highly available AWS cloud infrastructure.
- Lead cloud migration and modernization projects, including assessment, planning, and execution.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as CloudFormation or Terraform.
- Manage and optimize AWS services (EC2, S3, VPC, RDS, Lambda, IAM, CloudFront, CloudWatch, etc.).
- Develop and enforce cloud security best practices, including identity and access management, encryption, and compliance.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability and disaster recovery.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (security, development, operations) to deliver robust cloud solutions.
- Automate deployment, monitoring, and maintenance tasks using scripting and DevOps tools (Python, Bash, Jenkins, Ansible, etc.).
- Maintain documentation, diagrams, and operational procedures for cloud environments.
- Stay current with AWS advancements and recommend improvements to architecture and processes.
Required Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, systems engineering, or related fields.
- 5–8 years of hands-on experience with AWS cloud infrastructure (design, deployment, and management).
- Strong knowledge of AWS core services, networking, security, and automation.
- Experience with cloud migration, hybrid environments, and enterprise-scale deployments.
- Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (CloudFormation, Terraform) and automation tools.
- Solid understanding of security, compliance, and cost optimization in AWS.
- Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- AWS certifications (Solutions Architect, SysOps Administrator, or DevOps Engineer) preferred.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with other cloud platforms (Azure, GCP) is a plus.
- Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS, EKS).
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools (CloudWatch, Splunk, ELK).
