The AI Engineer is a hands-on builder. Working directly with our AI lead, you will sit down with business teams across operations, engineering, asset integrity, land, and finance, learn how their work gets done, and turn their problems into clear requirements. Then you will build the Copilot agents and automated workflows that solve them, and support those solutions once they are in use.

This role is about delivery: shipping working solutions, getting people to use them, and improving them based on real feedback. Oil and gas experience is required. You need to understand how a midstream business runs to build tools that people in the field and the office will use every day.

Responsibilities

Requirements and Discovery

•      Meet with business users to understand their workflows, pain points, and data sources.

•      Document requirements, success criteria, and acceptance criteria in plain language.

•      Translate business needs into agent designs and process flows, and validate them with stakeholders before building.

•      Help the AI lead size and prioritize incoming requests based on effort and business value.

Build and Deliver

•      Build, test, and deploy Copilot agents using Agent Builder and Copilot Studio.

•      Build automated workflows with Power Automate that connect agents to SharePoint, Teams, Dataverse, and line-of-business systems.

•      Ground agents in data with the right permissions and sensitivity labels in place.

•      Use Anthropic Claude and other models where they are the better fit for the task.

•      Follow company AI governance, agent publishing, and approval standards on every build.

•      Document each solution: purpose, data sources, owner, and support steps.

Support and Adoption

•      Run demos and working sessions so business teams know how to use what you build.

•      Monitor usage and user feedback, then fix issues and improve solutions in production.

•      Report progress, blockers, and usage results to the AI lead.

Qualifications

Required

•      5+ years of experience in IT, business analysis, automation, or data roles, including hands-on experience building AI agents or automated workflows that are used in production.

•      Oil and gas industry experience, with a working understanding of operations such as gathering, processing, pipelines, measurement, or field operations.

•      A proven track record of gathering requirements directly from business users and delivering working solutions. Be ready to walk us through examples.

•      Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365, including Copilot, Copilot agents, and Copilot Studio.

•      Hands-on experience with Power Automate.

•      Hands-on experience with Anthropic Claude, including prompt design and testing.

•      Solid understanding of SharePoint Online permissions, sensitivity labels, and data security.

•      Clear communicator who can talk with field operators, engineers, and analysts in their language.

•      Excellent customer service and strong culture fit: patient, approachable, and responsive with business users at every level.

•      Self-starter who takes direction well and owns delivery from start to finish.

Preferred

•      Midstream experience.

•      Experience with Power Apps, Dataverse, or Microsoft Fabric.

•      Experience with Azure AI Foundry or Azure OpenAI, REST APIs, or Python.

•      Microsoft Power Platform or Copilot Studio certifications.
