Solutions Architect – Cloud Modernization (AWS & Data Platforms)

Overview

We are seeking a Solutions Architect to lead and support cloud modernization initiatives with a primary focus on AWS. This role is ideal for a technically hands‑on architect with a strong data background who can design modern, scalable cloud architectures while partnering closely with engineering, data, and business stakeholders. The ideal candidate brings deep AWS expertise, experience modernizing data platforms, and strong exposure to Databricks or similar cloud data technologies, with the ability to operate across AWS and Azure environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect and design AWS‑based cloud modernization solutions, including migration and transformation of legacy and on‑prem platforms
• Lead the design of modern data architectures, including cloud data lakes, lakehouse platforms, and analytics solutions
• Partner with data engineering teams to define scalable data processing and analytics architectures using Databricks, Spark, or similar platforms
• Design secure, resilient, and cost‑effective cloud infrastructure leveraging AWS services (e.g., networking, compute, storage, IAM)
• Provide architectural guidance across hybrid and multi‑cloud environments, including AWS and Azure
• Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and security teams to align cloud and data architecture with enterprise standards
• Support DevOps and Infrastructure‑as‑Code practices (Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM/Bicep) as part of cloud deployments
• Translate business and technical requirements into end‑to‑end solution designs and reference architectures
• Act as a technical advisor to stakeholders, helping drive best practices for cloud adoption, data modernization, and scalability

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in cloud architecture, solutions architecture, or senior cloud engineering roles
• Strong expertise in AWS cloud infrastructure and architecture
• Solid data engineering or data platform background, including experience designing analytics or data processing solutions
• Hands‑on experience with Databricks, Apache Spark, or similar cloud data platforms
• Strong understanding of cloud networking, security, identity, and access management
• Experience designing scalable, high‑availability cloud solutions
• Proficiency in Python and/or SQL and comfort reviewing or guiding engineering‑level designs

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience leading cloud or data modernization initiatives
• Hands‑on exposure to Azure cloud services in hybrid or multi‑cloud environments
• Experience with modern data patterns such as lakehouse architectures, streaming data, or real‑time analytics
• Infrastructure‑as‑Code experience using Terraform or similar tools
• Previous experience working in complex enterprise or regulated environments

Nice to Have

• Prior consulting or customer‑facing architecture experience
• Strong communication skills with the ability to present technical solutions to non‑technical stakeholders
• Experience defining reference architectures, standards, or cloud governance frameworks
