Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Specialist with a strong background in electrical safety to serve as the onsite Owner’s Representative for a large-scale wind and solar project in Virginia. This individual will be responsible for ensuring that all construction and commissioning activities are performed in compliance with safety standards, environmental requirements, and company/OSHA regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as the Owner’s onsite representative for HSE matters throughout the project lifecycle.
• Oversee and monitor safety practices of EPC contractors and subcontractors, with a strong focus on electrical safety and high-voltage systems.
• Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and safety walkdowns to ensure compliance with regulatory and project-specific HSE standards.
• Lead incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action planning.
• Provide guidance and technical expertise on lockout/tagout (LOTO), grounding, energized work, and other electrical safety protocols.
• Deliver onsite HSE training, toolbox talks, and coaching to ensure a strong safety culture.
• Collaborate with project management, engineering, and contractors to proactively address potential risks and hazards.
• Track, report, and communicate HSE performance metrics to the Owner’s project team.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5+ years of HSE experience in the energy, power, or heavy industrial sectors.
• Strong electrical safety background, preferably with experience in utility-scale solar or wind projects.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations, NFPA 70E, and other relevant safety standards.
• Proven ability to act as Owner’s Representative or in a client-facing role.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• OSHA 30, First Aid/CPR, or similar HSE certifications preferred.
