What to Expect

In this role, you will support and maintain the SCADA/GMS environment and ensure full compliance with NERC/CIP requirements across a Generation Control Center (GCC) classified as a Medium or High Impact facility. You will also provide technical support for virtualized environments supporting both IT and OT systems.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Architecting, optimizing, implementing, configuring, managing, administering, and troubleshooting a range of infrastructure components including software, hardware, middleware, servers, storage, and IP‑based telecommunications.
  • Following established IT policies, governance frameworks, standards, and security requirements.
  • Installing and upgrading software releases, including researching, testing, and deploying new technologies.
  • Participating in disaster recovery planning and testing, including fault tolerance validation and maintenance of detailed DR documentation.
  • Communicating effectively with IT staff, vendors, and end‑user teams, especially during outages or critical events.
  • Conducting capacity planning across IT infrastructure, including Nutanix platforms and communication systems, ensuring high availability and redundancy.
  • Supporting hyperconverged technologies across private and public cloud environments.


What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT/OT application support and development.
  • Working knowledge of NERC CIP standards with prior experience contributing to compliance programs.
  • Familiarity with common programming technologies such as C, C#, Java, Visual Basic, .NET, and SQL.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools including Excel, Word, Visio, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong understanding of infrastructure technologies, operating systems, and documentation of complex configurations.
  • Experience performing day‑to‑day system and application administration, including installation and maintenance of operating systems, applications, and related equipment.
  • Ability to diagnose and analyze complex technical issues, evaluate solution options, and implement effective resolutions.
  • Skill in selecting and applying appropriate training methods when learning or teaching new concepts.
  • Knowledge of patch management, security monitoring tools, antivirus and incident response processes, backup and recovery operations, networking fundamentals, and SIEM tools.
  • Experience with VMware, Nutanix, hyperconverged networks, and adherence to NERC/CIP compliance standards.
