About the Role

We are seeking a hands-on Director of Data Warehouse & Business Intelligence to lead the strategy, architecture, and execution of our enterprise data platform. This individual will be responsible for data warehousing, integration, master data management, and business intelligence capabilities that support a large, multi-system business environment.

Key Responsibilities

Data Strategy & Architecture

• Own the vision, roadmap, and architecture for enterprise data warehousing, integration, and business intelligence platforms.
• Lead ongoing modernization and expansion of the organization's enterprise data environment.
• Translate business requirements into scalable enterprise data solutions.
• Establish and maintain data governance, quality, stewardship, and security standards.

Data Warehouse & Modernization

• Lead and optimize an Azure-hosted SQL Server data warehouse environment.
• Develop and execute a roadmap for transitioning to modern data lake/lakehouse architectures.
• Evaluate and leverage technologies such as Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, Snowflake, Azure Synapse, or similar platforms.
• Ensure scalability, reliability, and performance across enterprise data solutions.

Data Integration & Master Data Management

• Oversee enterprise integration platforms and related data architecture.
• Establish best practices for system integrations, metadata management, and data lineage.
• Lead master data management initiatives to improve consistency and trust in enterprise data.
• Partner with application owners to onboard and integrate new business systems.

Business Intelligence & Analytics

• Own the enterprise Power BI strategy, including governance, semantic models, and self-service analytics.
• Partner with business leaders to develop scalable reporting and analytics solutions.
• Establish standards for dashboard design, security, performance, and reuse.
• Promote a data-driven culture through accessible and actionable business insights.

Leadership & Team Management

• Lead, mentor, and grow a globally distributed team of data and BI professionals.
• Foster collaboration, accountability, and operational excellence across time zones.
• Manage external partners, consultants, and contractors.
• Balance competing priorities and drive execution in a fast-paced environment.

Executive & Stakeholder Engagement

• Serve as the primary leader for enterprise data, analytics, and reporting initiatives.
• Present strategy, roadmaps, and business insights to senior leadership.
• Translate complex technical concepts into business-focused recommendations.
• Collaborate closely with technology and business leaders to align data initiatives with organizational objectives.

Qualifications

Required Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 8+ years of progressive experience in data warehousing, business intelligence, analytics, or enterprise data management.
• 3+ years of leadership experience managing technical teams and enterprise data initiatives.
• Strong hands-on expertise with:
• SQL Server
• Data warehousing and dimensional modeling
• ETL/ELT development
• Azure data technologies
• Power BI
• Experience leading data warehouse modernization or migration to cloud-based data lake/lakehouse architectures.
• Experience with enterprise integration platforms (Boomi or similar iPaaS technologies).
• Strong stakeholder management and executive communication skills.
• Experience managing globally distributed or offshore teams.

Preferred Experience

• Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, Snowflake, Azure Synapse, or similar modern data platforms.
• ERP and CRM integration experience.
• Professional services or other complex, multi-system business environments.
• Microsoft Azure or Business Intelligence certifications.
