Position Title: DevOps & Server Administrator

Employment Type: Full-time

Location: 3 days in office, 2 days remote

Reports To: Technology Services Manager

Supervisory Responsibility: None


Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled professional to manage and support both DevOps and server administration functions across enterprise environments. This position requires a balance of strong technical expertise, problem-solving ability, and effective cross-team collaboration.


Key Responsibilities

DevOps

  • Develop and maintain automation workflows in line with corporate security and best practices.
  • Work with programming/scripting languages such as C# or PowerShell; proficient in relational databases like Microsoft SQL.
  • Utilize IDEs such as Visual Studio, Visual Studio Code, SQL Server Management Studio, and Azure Data Studio.
  • Manage version control using Git and Azure DevOps.
  • Apply automation tools including Red Hat Ansible and Microsoft System Center Orchestrator.
  • Understanding of MVVM architectural patterns and XAML is advantageous.

Server Administration

  • Provide technical support for Hyper-V and VMware environments.
  • Configure and maintain Windows Server systems using tools like Windows System Image Manager and Deployment Image Servicing and Management.
  • Apply a solid understanding of TCP/IP networking principles.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting and present technical details effectively to management.
  • Handle vendor escalations with Microsoft, VMware, Dell, and HP.
  • Administer Windows Server OS 2019–2025; Linux and UNIX experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Citrix technologies is desirable.

Additional Duties

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues.
  • Collaborate with Technology Leads and escalation teams as needed.
  • Participate in after-hours on-call rotation, remaining within close proximity to respond quickly to incidents and document actions taken.
  • Complete special projects and meet annual objectives.
  • Maintain high standards of professionalism, customer service, safety, and confidentiality.
  • Perform occasional travel as required.
  • Carry a company phone for availability during and occasionally outside working hours.


Minimum Qualifications

  • 5–7 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Strong organizational, documentation, and multitasking abilities.
  • Advanced knowledge of Hyper-V and VMware virtualization (VM creation/modification, templates, snapshots, replication, HA, dynamic provisioning).
  • Ability to build, configure, and troubleshoot Hyper-V, VMware, and Windows Hosts.
  • Deep understanding of Windows Operating Systems and related technologies.
  • Skilled in deployment, troubleshooting, and maintenance of virtual and Windows server environments in complex enterprise settings.
  • Strong English-language communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to learn quickly and solve problems effectively.
  • Capable of working under pressure, especially during critical incidents.
  • Proven analytical and logical thinking skills to resolve complex IT challenges.
  • Adherence to Change Control and established processes.
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Team-oriented with the ability to take direction and follow work schedules.


Preferred Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Azure DevOps Solution Certification.
  • Microsoft MCSE certification.
