A highly regarded, founder-led hospitality organization in San Francisco is seeking a Head of People/HR (Director) to lead the full human resources function.


This is a role for someone who enjoys operating close to the business — advising experienced operators and executives in a fast-paced environment where expectations are high and standards matter. All leaders are doers in this iconic organization where performance is key.

The Opportunity

  • Lead the full HR function including employee relations, compliance, and talent strategy
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership and ownership
  • Guide people decisions with sound judgment and clear risk assessment
  • Lead and mentor a small HR team of an HRM and TA Manager
  • Ensure strong HR practices across a large hourly workforce

Ideal Background

  • 10+ years of progressive HR leadership experience
  • Experience supporting large hourly or frontline workforces
  • Hospitality, hotel, restaurant, or service-driven environments required
  • Strong California employment law and employee relations expertise, including deep understanding of wage and hour
  • Experience mentoring HR team members and developing internal talent
  • Strong systems experience, including conversions
  • Fine dining experience is not required, but comfort with high-performance operational cultures is essential


Compensation: $150k - $180k annually


Location: onsite in San Francisco
