Role Overview
We are seeking a proactive and relationship‑driven Education Recruiter to lead end‑to‑end recruitment across schools, academies, colleges, and education trusts. The role involves sourcing and placing high‑quality teaching and support staff while delivering an exceptional candidate and client experience. You will build strong networks, maintain compliance standards, and contribute to the overall growth of the education recruitment division.
Key Responsibilities
Candidate Sourcing & Attraction
- Source teachers, learning support assistants, teaching assistants, SEN specialists, and other school-based staff.
- Build talent pipelines using job boards, social media, referrals, and networking.
- Write and post engaging job adverts tailored to the education sector.
- Conduct candidate screening, interviews, and suitability assessments.
Client Relationship Management
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with schools, MATs, nurseries, and colleges across London.
- Understand client staffing needs, workforce planning, and sector-specific challenges.
- Match suitable candidates to open roles and proactively identify opportunities for placements.
- Provide consultative guidance on market trends, salary benchmarking, and recruitment strategies.
Compliance & Safeguarding
- Ensure all candidates meet safeguarding and vetting requirements in line with:
- Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE)
- DBS checks
- Right-to-work regulations
- Reference and background checks
- Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date documentation on the recruitment system.
Placement & Onboarding
- Manage the full recruitment lifecycle—from initial contact to placement.
- Coordinate interviews, trial days, and feedback sessions.
- Support candidates through onboarding and assignment preparation.
- Maintain a strong presence with clients and candidates to ensure quality and retention.
Performance & Administration
- Achieve recruitment targets and KPIs related to placements, activity, and compliance.
- Update CRM and ATS systems with accurate and timely information.
- Collate weekly reports on vacancies, placements, and pipeline activity.
Skills & Experience Required
Essential
- Experience in education recruitment, agency recruitment, or internal talent acquisition with high-volume roles.
- Strong understanding of UK education workforce requirements.
- Familiarity with safeguarding and vetting processes.
- Excellent relationship-building and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple vacancies and deliver against tight timelines.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
Desirable
- Experience working with London-based schools.
- Knowledge of the London education market and seasonal recruitment cycles.
- Qualified in Safer Recruitment (or willing to complete training).
- Experience using CRM/ATS systems (such as SIMS, Arbor, or recruitment platforms).
