Weβre looking for a Data Architect to lead the architecture and evolution of a modern Microsoft Fabric-based enterprise data platform.
This role will lead the design of a Microsoft Fabric-based enterprise data platform, embedding metadata-driven principles, strong governance, and data quality standards at the heart of the architecture. The role combines strategic enterprise data architecture responsibilities with hands-on involvement in designing and supporting the build of the data platform and its associated data products.
What you'll be doing:

Lead the architecture and design of an enterprise Microsoft Fabric data platform

Define scalable architecture patterns across Lakehouse, Data Warehouse, Data Engineering, Real-Time Analytics and Semantic Models
- Develop enterprise data architecture roadmaps, target-state architectures and transition strategies
- Design conceptual, logical and physical data models

Establish metadata-driven architecture principles and frameworks
- Drive data lineage, cataloguing, metadata management and impact analysis

Define and embed data governance, data quality and MDM principles
- Design enterprise integration patterns covering APIs, ETL/ELT and event-driven architectures
- Establish data ownership, authoritative data sources and CRUD matrices
- Partner closely with Data Engineering, Analytics, Enterprise Architecture, Technology and business stakeholders
- Provide architectural leadership and assurance throughout platform delivery
What we're looking for

Significant experience in Data Architecture / Enterprise Data Architecture / Solution Architecture

Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric and the Microsoft Data Platform ecosystem

Expertise across Fabric Lakehouse, Warehouse, Data Engineering, Real-Time Analytics and Semantic Models
- Strong enterprise data modelling and information architecture experience

Proven experience with metadata-driven architecture

Strong knowledge of data governance, data quality, lineage and metadata management

Experience with Master Data Management (MDM) and data mastering

Strong understanding of enterprise integration architecture, APIs, ETL/ELT and event-driven patterns
- Strong SQL and data modelling skills
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
