Head of Data Engineering – Microsoft Fabric

Location: London Area – Hybrid – 2 Days from Office

Contract: 6 Months

Rate: £675/day Outside IR35

We are looking for a senior Head of Data Engineering to lead the development of a new enterprise data engineering capability using Microsoft Fabric.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead data engineering teams across Development, Testing, Release and Platform Operations.
• Own the Microsoft Fabric data engineering strategy and roadmap.
• Design and oversee OneLake, Lakehouse, Warehouse, Pipelines and Spark solutions.
• Establish data governance, security, CI/CD and engineering standards.
• Work across enterprise platforms including Salesforce, Certinia, Workday and Dynamics 365 F&O.
• Provide technical leadership and mentor the engineering team.

Essential Skills

• Strong senior-level Data Engineering leadership experience.
• Deep hands-on Microsoft Fabric experience.
• OneLake, Lakehouse, Pipelines, Dataflows Gen2 and Spark.
• Data modelling and medallion architecture.
• Azure, SQL, Git/CI/CD and DevOps.
• Strong stakeholder and team leadership skills.
