Data Adoption Specialist
Data only creates value when people trust it, understand it, and use it in the decisions that matter. In this role you turn delivery into lasting behaviour: you close the gap between a working platform and a team that actually runs the business on it. You will sit with executives, analysts, and frontline users, and leave them more confident, more consistent, and less dependent on heroic workarounds.
Performance Objectives
- Raise active use of priority data products so agreed user groups meet defined adoption targets within each engagement.
- Diagnose why data is ignored—trust, access, skills, process, or incentives—and remove the blockers that stall value.
- Design and run role-based enablement that cuts time-to-proficiency and reduces repeat support on core workflows.
- Embed data use into operating rhythms: owners, definitions, and decision forums that survive after the project team leaves.
- Measure adoption with clear leading and lagging indicators, and report progress leaders can act on.
- Coach client champions so governance, quality, and analytics practices stick without constant consultant presence.
- Feed field evidence back to advisory and engineering so products, models, and controls match how work is really done.
Environment & Resources
You join a small, senior consultancy that blends advisory, delivery, and engineering for organisations worldwide. Work is client-facing and often hybrid, with travel when the engagement needs it. You partner with data engineers, governance leads, and programme managers, and you report to an engagement or practice lead. You will have access to client stakeholders, existing data platforms, and a tight internal bench—not a large back office. Scope, success measures, and budget are agreed up front so adoption work is funded as part of the outcome, not treated as an afterthought.
Essential Qualifications
- Proven record of increasing real usage of data, analytics, or governance capabilities—not just launching them.
- Ability to translate technical data concepts for executives and operational teams without losing accuracy.
- Experience designing training, playbooks, or change plans tied to measurable behaviour change.
- Comfort facilitating workshops, defining owners, and navigating competing priorities across functions.
- Working knowledge of data governance, master data, analytics, or engineering enough to challenge solutions that will not be adopted.
- Clear writing and stakeholder management in complex, multi-client or transformation settings.
Why This Role
- Adoption is the job, not a slide at the end of a build.
- You work beside experienced practitioners and newer talent on live client problems, not internal theatre.
- Engagements span strategy through engineering, so your insight changes what gets built.
- Early-stage firm: visible impact, broad responsibility, and room to shape how adoption is sold and delivered.
- Global client work from a UK base, with variety across industries rather than one static platform.
