Role Overview:-

This role is responsible for building and operationalising the Amazon DocumentDB platform, combining DBA and SRE responsibilities with a strong Infrastructure as Code focus (CDK in TypeScript). The expectation is that the individual will establish standards, automate deployments, and set up the platform for long-term ownership within the DBA team.

Core Responsibilities:-

• Design and build the Amazon DocumentDB platform from the ground up — cluster architecture (Multi-AZ), parameter groups, configuration standards, and network model (private subnets, security groups)

• Establish baseline templates for repeatable deployments

• Implement automated backups, snapshot management, and scaling policies

• Develop reusable CDK constructs in TypeScript covering DocumentDB clusters and instances, networking and security controls, and monitoring and alerting

• Integrate existing IaC standards (CDK-first approach)

• Lead migration of workloads from MongoDB — defining and executing a phased data migration strategy (full load + CDC)
