Organizational Change Management Specialist


Type: Internal hire — full-time W-2 employee of Innovation Consulting LLC

Location: Greater Los Angeles, CA preferred. Candidates based elsewhere in California, including the Bakersfield and Fresno areas, will be considered.

Salary: $94K – $122K per year, DOE


About the Role

Support change delivery on department and enterprise-wide utility projects, based in Greater Los Angeles. Innovation Consulting LLC is supporting a large utility serving Southern California and is recruiting an Organizational Change Management Specialist for this work.

The ideal candidate has three to four years of change management or related experience, is organized enough to run a stakeholder log without being asked twice, and wants to build toward a Prosci-certified consulting career in a regulated utility environment.

You will be hired as a full-time employee of Innovation Consulting and deployed as a consultant on client engagements. This position is contingent on contract award, anticipated Q4 2026, with assignments beginning in late 2026 to early 2027.


Key Responsibilities

Change Support

•     Conceptualize and recommend key strategies and department initiatives to managers for projects of low to medium complexity and scale.

•     May lead the design and development of department-specific projects, programs, policies and processes.

•     Draft sections of change strategies, communication plans, training plans and impact assessments for review by the project lead.

Data and Facilitation

•     Organize and facilitate meetings with business team members to gather requirements, identify stakeholder impacts and collect data.

•     Maintain stakeholder registers, change impact logs and readiness tracking.

•     Support the preparation of change management status updates and readiness checkpoint materials.


Work Requirements

•     Onsite attendance at the client's offices in the Greater Los Angeles metro is required at a cadence set by the client per assignment. Work that does not require in-person presence is performed remotely.

•     The client provides equipment, workspace and systems access. Work is assigned and directed by the client's Organizational Change Management Senior Manager or designee, with as-needed field travel across the utility's Southern California service territory.


Qualifications

Required

•     3 to 4 years of total relevant experience.

•     Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Organizational Development, Organizational Design, Business Administration or a related field, or equivalent experience.

•     General knowledge of organizational change management or organizational design best practices and their technical application.

•     Demonstrated ability to organize and facilitate stakeholder meetings and document outcomes accurately.

•     Comfortable working under the direction of a project lead with significant oversight.

•     Must be authorized to work in the United States.

•     Must be able to travel to client facilities in the Greater Los Angeles metro and throughout the utility's Southern California service territory for working sessions and as-needed field visits.

•     Must be able to clear utility contractor onboarding, including background check and site safety orientation.

Preferred

•     Master's degree in a related field.

•     Prosci Practitioner Certification, or willingness to certify within the first year.

•     Experience with regulated utilities, energy or another CPUC-regulated industry.

•     Advanced Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel and SharePoint skills.


Compensation & Employment

Employment Type: Internal hire. Full-time W-2 employee of Innovation Consulting, deployed as a consultant on client engagements. Contingent on contract award.

Salary: $94K – $122K per year, DOE

Estimated Duration: Ongoing. Work is expected to last up to three years, with potential for renewal.

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM Pacific.
