Senior Change Management Consultant

Salary: $161K – $215K per year, DOE
About the Role
Lead enterprise-wide change strategy on highly complex, large-scale utility initiatives, onsite in Greater Los Angeles. Innovation Consulting LLC is supporting a large utility serving Southern California and is recruiting a Senior Change Management Consultant for this work.
The ideal candidate works with significant independence and little oversight, is fluent in Prosci and ADKAR, and can move between advising a senior executive in the morning and building a change impact assessment in the afternoon. A professional change management or organizational design certification is required at this level.
You will be hired as a full-time employee of Innovation Consulting and deployed as a consultant on client engagements. This position is contingent on contract award, anticipated Q4 2026, with assignments beginning in late 2026 to early 2027.
Key Responsibilities
Enterprise Change Strategy
• Lead the design and development of enterprise-wide change strategies informing portfolios, programs, projects, policies and processes.
• Provide strategic analysis, advice and education to senior executives and managers on initiatives that are highly complex and large in scale.
• Conduct sponsor assessments, ADKAR stakeholder assessments and change readiness assessments, and translate findings into action.
Change Delivery
• Build change impact assessments, change management project plans, communication plans and sponsor roadmaps.
• Develop training plans, coaching plans and resistance management plans in support of user adoption.
• Establish readiness checkpoints and scorecards used in go/no-go decisions, and conduct after action reviews.
Team and Stakeholder Management
• May lead a team of consultants, associates and analysts.
• Identify, manage and escalate issues, risks, timelines and deliverables to business owners.
• Integrate with client project managers, human resources business partners, sponsors and PMOs.
Work Requirements
• Primarily onsite at the client's offices in the Greater Los Angeles metro, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM Pacific. Not eligible for fully remote work. Candidates outside commuting distance must relocate to the area before assignment start.
• The client provides equipment, workspace and systems access. Work is assigned and directed by the client's Organizational Change Management Senior Manager or designee, with as-needed field travel across the utility's Southern California service territory.
Qualifications
Required
• 10 or more years of total relevant work experience in organizational change management.
• Professional change management or organizational design certification — required. Prosci Practitioner Certification strongly preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of organizational development and effectiveness best practices and their technical application.
• Demonstrated experience leading enterprise-wide change strategy on highly complex, large-scale initiatives.
• Project management experience.
• Work is mainly self-directed with significant independence and little oversight.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.
• Must reside within commuting distance of the Greater Los Angeles metro, or relocate to the area prior to assignment start.
• Must be able to clear utility contractor onboarding, including background check and site safety orientation.
Preferred
• Prosci Practitioner Certification.
• Advanced degree in Psychology, Organizational Development, Organizational Design, Business Administration or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience with regulated utilities, energy or another CPUC-regulated industry.
• Experience on enterprise technology, business process optimization or culture transformation programs.
Compensation & Employment
Employment Type: Internal hire. Full-time W-2 employee of Innovation Consulting, deployed as a consultant on client engagements. Contingent on contract award.
Salary: $161K – $215K per year, DOE
Estimated Duration: Ongoing. Work is expected to last up to three years, with potential for renewal.
