About the Role
Build and deliver change management strategies on moderate to large enterprise-wide utility projects, based in Greater Los Angeles. Innovation Consulting LLC is supporting a large utility serving Southern California and is recruiting a Change Management Consultant for this work.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on Prosci practitioner who builds the artifacts rather than only advising on them, and who is comfortable facilitating working sessions with business stakeholders. A professional certification in organizational change management or organizational design is required at this level.
You will be hired as a full-time employee of Innovation Consulting and deployed as a consultant on client engagements. This position is contingent on contract award, anticipated Q4 2026, with assignments beginning in late 2026 to early 2027.
Key Responsibilities
Change Management Delivery
• Conceptualize, recommend and develop key change strategies on corporate initiatives for project managers and leaders.
• Lead the design and development of moderate to large enterprise-wide projects, programs and processes.
• Build stakeholder assessments, change impact assessments, communication plans, training plans and readiness checkpoints.
Stakeholder Engagement
• Facilitate working sessions with business team members to gather requirements, identify stakeholder impacts and collect data.
• Support the change agent network and coach managers and supervisors through the change process.
• Develop and deliver regular change management status updates for sponsors, human resources, project managers and other stakeholders.
Team Support
• May lead a small team of associates and analysts.
• Support risk mitigation planning by identifying key people and organizational risks and proposing mitigating actions.
• Work is reviewed by the project lead.
Work Requirements
• Primarily onsite at the client's offices in the Greater Los Angeles metro, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM Pacific, with hybrid considered for work that does not require in-person presence. Not eligible for fully remote work. Candidates outside commuting distance must relocate to the area before assignment start.
• The client provides equipment, workspace and systems access. Work is assigned and directed by the client's Organizational Change Management Senior Manager or designee, with as-needed field travel across the utility's Southern California service territory.
Qualifications
Required
• 5 to 9 years of total relevant experience in organizational change management.
• Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Organizational Development, Organizational Design, Business Administration or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Professional certification in organizational change management or organizational design — required.
• Broad knowledge of organizational change management or organizational design best practices and their technical application.
• Project management experience.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.
• Must reside within commuting distance of the Greater Los Angeles metro, or relocate to the area prior to assignment start.
• Must be able to clear utility contractor onboarding, including background check and site safety orientation.
Preferred
• Prosci Practitioner Certification and hands-on experience producing Prosci deliverables.
• Master's degree in a related field.
• Experience with regulated utilities, energy or another CPUC-regulated industry.
• Experience supporting enterprise technology or business process optimization programs.
Compensation & Employment
Employment Type: Internal hire. Full-time W-2 employee of Innovation Consulting, deployed as a consultant on client engagements. Contingent on contract award.
Salary: $122K – $165K per year, DOE
Estimated Duration: Ongoing. Work is expected to last up to three years, with potential for renewal.
