Job Title: IT Project Manager – Breakfix Prioritization Program
Location:100% remote
Rate: $70-$72/ hour
Duration: Through 6/30/26 (18 months expected)
Overview:
The IT Project Manager will lead and mature our client's IT Breakfix Prioritization Program, ensuring effective management of prioritization logic change requests, escalations, and manual override processes. This role applies project management methodologies across all phases of the project lifecycle, including design, scope, quality, and performance reporting. The Project Manager will collaborate with IT Process and Standards (ITPS), Core Datacenter Services (CDS) Engineering, internal engineering groups, Datacenter Operations (DC Ops), and breakfix operations stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions that support mission-critical datacenter operations at hyperscale.
- Drive mission-critical programs that keep our client's global datacenter operations running at scale.
- Influence prioritization strategies that directly impact service reliability and customer experience.
- Collaborate on high-visibility initiatives with engineering and operations teams.
- Build expertise in cloud infrastructure and program management for hyperscale environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Leadership
- Drive maturity and optimization of the breakfix prioritization program.
- Manage prioritization logic change requests, escalations, and manual override processes.
Project Management
- Develop project plans, timelines, and scopes for prioritization initiatives.
- Manage project resources, providing motivation, coaching, and guidance.
- Ensure adherence to systems development and project management best practices.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
- Partner with functional teams to define business requirements.
- Collaborate with CDS Engineering to:
- Define test plans and ensure defect-free releases.
- Develop rollout plans and operational procedures.
- Establish prioritization success metrics.
- Prepare and present prioritization change impact analyses.
- Coordinate with ITPS, CDS, and breakfix operations partners for seamless execution.
Governance & Reporting
- Lead support analysts in delivering change and release management for prioritization logic.
- Present updates to steering committees and project sponsors.
- Provide communication updates for change and release management.
- Deliver quality and performance reporting for program initiatives.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical field (MBA or advanced degree preferred).
- 5–7 years of proven project management experience in large-scale, multi-platform environments.
- Minimum 5 years delivering technology and business solutions in hyperscale, mission-critical datacenter operations.
- PMP or PMI certification required.
- Risk assessment and management skills across technology, operations, and business functions.
- Ability to adapt and exercise judgment in dynamic environments with competing priorities.
- Proven ability to quickly learn business processes and collaborate across organizational levels.
Candidate Requirements:
- Expertise in project management methodologies and tools.
- Deep understanding of IT infrastructure, breakfix operations, and datacenter processes.
- Proficiency in documentation, tooling, and process development for operational efficiency.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
