Job Title: Legal Secretary / Paralegal
Location: Remote (Pacific Time hours required)
Rate: $34-$36 / HOUR
Join our client's Corporate, External & Legal Affairs (CELA) team to support global legal operations. This role focuses on triaging and responding to client inquiries across a wide range of legal issues, ensuring accurate categorization and routing, and progressively drafting responses as subject-matter expertise develops. You will also contribute to implementing new processes and technology, including AI-driven solutions for categorization, analytics, and content creation.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare legal documents such as briefs, pleadings, appeals, wills, contracts, and real estate closing statements.
- Draft affidavits and maintain document files; file pleadings with court clerks.
- Conduct legal research using statutes, decisions, legal articles, codes, and documents.
- Investigate facts and applicable laws to determine causes of action and prepare cases.
- Support attorneys, senior paralegals, and other team members on routine processes and legal matters, escalating issues as needed.
- Utilize Microsoft tools, resources, and standardized processes to achieve work objectives efficiently.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Education:
- Associate’s Degree in Paralegal Studies or Paralegal Certification.
- Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
Experience:
- Minimum 5–7 years of experience in legal research and document/case management.
- Experience drafting and reviewing legal documents with accuracy and compliance.
- Technical proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and case management software.
- Prior experience in a technology industry environment strongly preferred.
- Core Skills:
- Knowledge of laws, legal codes, court procedures, and government regulations.
- Comfort with technology and modern legal tools.
- Must be able to work Pacific Time (PST) hours.
- Remote work allowed; flexible within +/- 2–3 hours of PST.
