Job Title: Sr. Legal Secretary / Paralegal – Legal Escalations Support
Location: Remote (Must be able to work Pacific Time hours)
Rate:$45-$47/ hour
Duration: Through 6/30/26 - 18-month contract expected
This role supports a global legal operations team responsible for triaging and responding to client inquiries across a broad range of legal issues. The position ensures inquiries are accurately categorized, routed to appropriate queues, and progressively drafts responses as subject-matter familiarity grows. The role also contributes to implementing new processes and technologies, including AI-driven categorization, analytics, and content creation, to enhance efficiency and scalability.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare legal documents, including briefs, pleadings, appeals, wills, contracts, and real estate closing statements.
- Draft affidavits and maintain organized document files; file pleadings with court clerks.
- Conduct legal research on statutes, decisions, legal articles, codes, and case law to support proceedings.
- Investigate facts and applicable laws to determine causes of action and prepare cases.
- Collaborate on projects involving Microsoft Salesforce integration for global legal escalations.
- Support initiatives leveraging AI for categorization, analytics, and legal content development.
Performance Measurement
- Accuracy and timeliness in triaging and routing legal inquiries.
- Quality and completeness of drafted legal documents and research.
- Contribution to process improvements and technology adoption initiatives.
- Responsiveness and collaboration within the global legal team.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Education:
- Associate’s degree in Paralegal Studies and a certificate in Paralegal Studies.
Experience:
- 8–10 years of experience in legal support roles, preferably within technology companies or law firms.
Core Skills:
- Familiarity with laws, legal codes, court procedures, and government regulations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
- Comfort with technology and willingness to learn new tools and processes.
