- Type: typically 1099 contracts, the occasional contract-to-hire or full-time permanent W2 opportunity

- Seeking English-speaking nearshore LATAM-based candidates who can work with US-based clients.
Responsibilities:
- Manage inbound and outbound data pipelines that ingest client data and produce results in realtime; requires flexible inbound and outbound configurations and flexible data mapping within a distributed system.
- Working with Java, Kafka, and event driven systems.
- Designing data structures and modeling and mapping data.
- Working with, or a willingness to dive into Neo4j.
- Working with, or a willingness to dive into serverless architecture.
- Writing unit and integration tests.
- Releasing software into production and validating functionality.
- Contributing to deployment automation.
- Identifying the need for and build internal tools to help the developer experience.
- Specific responsibilities will vary based on individual client needs.
Qualifications:
Our clients vary in their use of data tools and needs. We know you won't be an expert in all of them, but we're looking for data engineers with:
- 5+ years of dedicated Data Engineering experience with a strong focus on:

Programming: Python (PySpark), Scala (Spark), Java, and advanced SQL.

Big Data Processing: Apache Spark (batch & streaming), Apache Flink, Apache Kafka.

Orchestration: Apache Airflow, Prefect, Dagster.

Data Warehousing & Lakes: Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, S3, ADLS, GCS, along with Delta Lake/Iceberg/Hudi.

Databases: Expertise with both relational (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Cassandra) databases.
- Proven ability to design, build, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines.
- Deep understanding of data modeling (relational & NoSQL).
- Strong expertise with major cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their relevant services (e.g., AWS Glue, Azure Data Factory, GCP Dataflow).
- Familiarity with DevOps principles and tools like Docker, Kubernetes concepts, and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions).
- Working knowledge of Git and Agile methodologies.
