Job Summary / Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior React Native Engineer to lead the re-architecture and stabilization of a high-visibility iOS and Android application for a live, event-driven digital marketplace. This platform operates at the intersection of sports, finance, and fan engagement, supporting time-sensitive launches where performance, reliability, and scalability are critical.

In this role, you will take ownership of an existing mobile application originally built by a third-party vendor and redesign it for production-grade scale, fault tolerance, and sustained performance under sudden, viral demand. This position is ideal for an engineer who thrives in high-pressure environments and has a proven track record building mobile systems that remain stable during traffic spikes and real-time activity.

Key Responsibilities

• Re-architect and harden an existing React Native mobile application for scalability, reliability, and performance.
• Design mobile systems capable of handling bursty traffic, viral launches, and real-time updates without service disruption.
• Improve and refactor inherited codebases to meet modern engineering standards and best practices.
• Optimize application performance, memory usage, and rendering efficiency across iOS and Android platforms.
• Collaborate closely with backend, product, and infrastructure teams to support event-driven workflows and live market activity.
• Implement robust error handling, monitoring, and recovery mechanisms to ensure high availability during peak demand.
• Lead architectural decisions and establish long-term mobile engineering standards.
• Conduct code reviews and mentor engineers to promote quality, maintainability, and operational excellence.

Required Qualifications

• Senior-level experience with React Native and TypeScript in production mobile applications.
• Strong background in mobile architecture, performance tuning, and reliability engineering.
• Demonstrated experience designing applications for high-traffic, bursty, or real-time environments.
• Proven ability to take ownership of inherited or vendor-built codebases and significantly improve structure, stability, and scalability.
• Deep understanding of mobile application lifecycle, networking, concurrency, and failure handling.
• Experience delivering mission-critical applications where downtime is not acceptable.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting event-driven or marketplace-style platforms with frequent launches and time-sensitive demand.
• Familiarity with mobile observability, monitoring, and performance profiling tools.
• Background working in high-visibility consumer or financial technology products.
