Civil Designer - Residential

Location: Charlotte, NC

Salary: $85,000 - $120,000


About the Role

A growing land development group is seeking a Civil Designer to support single family residential projects throughout the Southeast region. This role focuses on design support for both attached and detached residential communities and offers the opportunity to work closely with project managers, design engineers, municipal reviewers, and other technical partners. The Civil Designer will contribute to master planning, permitting, construction documentation, and community amenity design. This is an excellent position for someone who wants to grow inside a collaborative and dynamic civil engineering environment.


Responsibilities

  • Partner with project managers, design engineers, clients, and consultants during planning and design
  • Develop residential master plans for single family communities, both attached and detached
  • Prepare construction documents for master planned developments
  • Create and submit permit applications and coordinate directly with municipal review staff
  • Produce engineering calculations that support design accuracy and regulatory compliance
  • Participate in design sessions, client meetings, and collaborative charette workshops
  • Work with landscape architecture teams on amenity concepts and community enhancements
  • Support construction administration activities through coordination and documentation


Qualifications

  • Three to five years of land development experience focused on single family residential projects
  • Proficiency in Civil 3D
  • Strong communication skills and a client focused mindset
  • A team oriented approach and willingness to collaborate across disciplines
