We are looking for a detail-oriented and innovative Mechanical Design Responsible Engineer (DRE) to support infotainment display integration for cutting-edge vehicle programs. This role is ideal for someone with strong mechanical engineering fundamentals, experience in automotive systems, and a collaborative mindset.
Key Responsibilities
Mechanical Integration
- Analyze and interpret Scout drawing releases for assigned components.
- Conduct detailed tolerance analyses to ensure seamless integration of components within vehicle systems.
- Identify and resolve potential fit, form, and function issues before release.
- Collaborate closely with design, manufacturing, and cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on component integration.
Verification & Validation (V&V)
- Participate in component, system, and vehicle-level V&V testing.
- Investigate test failures to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with all validation standards and system requirements.
Component Design & Analysis
- Perform weight simulations to enhance system-level performance.
- Apply GD&T principles in all component designs to ensure precision and manufacturability.
- Develop Measurement and Tolerance (MtD) plans for critical dimensions and tolerances.
- Conduct tolerance stack-up analysis to support robust design decisions.
PFMEA Integration
- Review and interpret PFMEAs for assigned components and systems.
- Identify and address potential failure modes early in the design cycle.
- Support preventative design improvements to mitigate identified risks.
Job Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 3–5 years of relevant experience in mechanical design engineering, ideally within the automotive or automation sectors.
- Solid knowledge of mechanical design fundamentals, tolerance stack-up analysis, and V&V best practices.
- Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and Measurement & Tolerance (MtD).
- Proficiency in CAD and engineering analysis tools.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Preferred:
- Prior experience in mechanical integration within the automotive industry.
- Proficiency with Catia and CAE tools.
- Familiarity with material selection and mechanical properties.
