Who We’re Looking For

Our client’s Plant Engineering Advanced Planning & Innovation team is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to support the development of facility infrastructure for advanced manufacturing environments, including battery production and on-site supplier operations.


This role focuses on engineering planning, innovation, and analysis of new concepts for facility design and construction, ensuring safety, quality, productivity, and cost efficiency.


What You’ll Be Doing

  • Provide technical support for early project planning, focusing on industrial mechanical system design and pre-construction analysis
  • Conduct studies on innovative design and implementation approaches, including cost and schedule impacts
  • Research and benchmark industry trends to improve building design, installation, and overall efficiency
  • Develop project justifications, business cases, and presentations for leadership
  • Provide technical expertise throughout planning, design, and construction phases
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams and external partners


What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, or similar) or 5+ years of hands-on mechanical system experience
  • 5+ years of experience in building design, construction, or operations/maintenance
  • 5+ years working with industrial mechanical systems (HVAC, process piping, chilled water, compressed air, etc.)
  • 3+ years of reporting and presentation experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Outlook)


What You May Bring

  • Professional Engineering (PE) License
  • Experience with industrial controls or automation systems (BMS, SCADA, fire alarm systems)
  • Experience with industrial chemical systems (wastewater, tank farms, etc.)
  • Cross-functional collaboration experience
  • Experience with tools such as Power BI, Bluebeam Revu, Navisworks, or AutoCAD
  • Industry certifications (ASHRAE, CEM, LEED AP, PMP, etc.)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a continuous improvement (kaizen) mindset
