Senior Construction Estimator
Location: Remote (Michigan, United States)

Salary: $115,000 – $130,000 per year

Key Responsibilities:

Project Cost Estimation: Analyze project plans, blueprints, and specifications to develop detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, and equipment.

Bidding and Proposals: Prepare and submit competitive bids and proposals, including attending pre-bid meetings and site tours.

Subcontractor and Supplier Management: Solicit, review, and evaluate bids from subcontractors and suppliers to ensure the best value.

Budget and Profit Management: Ensure cost estimates align with company profit goals and contribute to staying within project budgets.

Relationship Building: Foster strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and design teams.

Process Improvement: Continuously improve estimating processes, software, and databases for greater accuracy and efficiency.

Risk Analysis: Critically analyze project documents to identify potential risks and opportunities.

Team Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and architects to define project scope and provide cost-effective solutions.

Cost History Maintenance: Gather and monitor actual costs versus estimated costs to maintain historical data for future projects.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- Significant experience (typically 5–10+ years) in construction estimating, with a focus on specific project types or trades.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, construction plans, and engineering documents.
- Proficiency with construction estimating software and takeoff tools.
- Must be located in Michigan to attend onsite bidding if needed.
