Salary: $75,000 – $80,000 annually

We are hiring for one of our trusted clients seeking an experienced Certified Payroll Union Specialist to support payroll operations in a union construction environment. This position will begin onsite in Auburn Hills, MI and transition to the company’s new Southfield office once construction is complete.
Key Responsibilities:
• Process certified payroll accurately and timely in compliance with federal, state, and union requirements
• Ensure compliance with Davis-Bacon Act and prevailing wage regulations
• Interpret and administer union collective bargaining agreements (CBAs)
• Prepare and submit certified payroll reports and related documentation
• Calculate union benefit contributions and complete trust fund reporting
• Maintain accurate payroll records and ensure compliance with audit requirements
• Coordinate with internal teams regarding payroll discrepancies and reporting needs
• Support payroll compliance initiatives and maintain confidentiality of employee data
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree in accounting preferred
• Minimum 2–5 years of payroll experience
• Experience with certified payroll in a union environment required
• Strong understanding of Davis-Bacon Act and prevailing wage laws required
• Experience interpreting and administering union collective bargaining agreements (CBAs) required
• Familiarity with union trust fund reporting and benefit contribution calculations required
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills
