Position Overview
We are seeking a hands-on Accounting Manager to oversee the daily operations of an accounting department. This role is critical in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting, maintaining compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements, and supporting senior finance leadership.
The Accounting Manager will help develop a team of accounting professionals, drive process improvements, and play a key role in maintaining financial health and integrity. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day accounting activities, including journal entries, general ledger maintenance, and account reconciliations
- Supervise and mentor a team of accounting professionals, fostering growth and operational efficiency
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting
- Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements in compliance with GAAP and applicable regulatory standards
- Collaborate with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory agencies to support audits and ensure compliance
- Reconcile bank accounts, manage refunds, audit AR/AP, and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
- Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure adherence to accounting standards and financial policies
- Support financial due diligence efforts related to audits, acquisitions, and strategic initiatives
- Identify and implement process improvements and automation to enhance efficiency, scalability, and data integrity
- Partner with finance leadership on special projects, ad hoc reporting, and cross-functional initiatives
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA certification required
- Proven experience as an Accounting Manager and/or Auditor
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including financial reporting
- Strong knowledge of GAAP
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing accounting teams and driving operational improvements
- Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while managing multiple priorities
