Maintenance Reliability / Tooling Engineer

Reliance One is seeking a Maintenance Reliability / Tooling Engineer to join our client’s team. In this role, you will drive maintenance and tooling initiatives that maximize equipment uptime, improve repair effectiveness, and support continuous improvement in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You’ll work closely with technicians, operators, and vendors to enhance reliability, minimize downtime, and optimize tooling performance.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with equipment manufacturers and vendors to support operations and maintenance for improved repair effectiveness
• Collaborate with technicians and operators to identify and implement improvements that minimize downtime
• Analyze downtime data and lead corrective actions to reduce recurring failures
• Manage the spare parts program and ensure availability of critical components
• Lead problem-solving initiatives and train staff in root cause analysis methods
• Own and drive key performance metrics including MTTR and MTBF for the tooling department

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related)
• Experience leading projects in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Hands-on experience with injection mold tooling (design, maintenance, diagnostics, and repair)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of electrical systems (24V DC – 480V AC), hydraulics, PLCs, HMIs, and process controls
• Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
• Background in injection molding or similar processes
• Experience leading and supervising skilled technician teams
