Lab Technician

Overview:

Reliance One, Inc. is hiring a Lab Technician to support paint equipment and materials testing in a hands-on lab environment. This position involves robotic programming, equipment maintenance, and testing activities to ensure quality standards and successful project support.

Responsibilities & Duties:

• Conduct tests and evaluations of new paint equipment and materials.
• Perform paint testing, including taking color readings and other measurements.
• Operate and maintain robotic application equipment (lab does not have a dedicated maintenance function).
• Support model projects and ensure new equipment is functional.
• Plan testing conditions and interact with Kawasaki robots.
• Review test matrices with project leads.
• Mix and prepare paint for testing.
• Program paint robots and adjust paint properties to meet quality targets.
• Spray test panels and parts per testing matrices.
• Run trials and adjust parameters as needed.
• Support maintenance and cleaning of paint equipment.
• Check paint equipment for proper operation.
• Use paint measurement instruments.

What You Bring:

• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience (open to recent graduates with paint and/or robotic programming experience).
• 2-year technical degree or equivalent work experience required.
• Strong robotic programming and maintenance skills.
• Familiarity with Allen Bradley and Toyopuc systems.
• 3D programming experience is a plus (needed for future projects).
• Excellent multitasking, prioritization, and time management skills.
• Strong problem-solving abilities with initiative for improvement.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Bonus Experience:

• Automated robotic paint shop applications.
• Paint manufacturing, formulation, or testing.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or additional certifications.
