Position Overview
The State of Michigan is seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support critical initiatives related to public health data systems. This role will focus on requirements gathering, data analysis, testing, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure successful system implementations and enhancements.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather, analyze, and document business and system requirements
- Perform process mapping and workflow analysis
- Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and support UAT efforts
- Analyze data and identify trends, gaps, and improvement opportunities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support project delivery
- Support initiatives related to public health systems, including Newborn Screening and Environmental Health
- Work within Azure DevOps to manage requirements and testing activities
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Public Health, Life Sciences, or related field
- 8+ years of experience in business analysis, systems analysis, or related IT role
- 8+ years of experience with:
- Requirements elicitation and documentation
- Process mapping and workflow analysis
- Data analysis and problem solving
- Test planning and execution (UAT)
- Experience with public health data systems and reporting requirements
- Experience with Azure DevOps
- Knowledge of data integration standards (HL7, APIs)
- Strong ability to manage multiple priorities and work cross-functionally
