ADS Engineer

Location: Ann Arbor, MI — Onsite

Full Time | Contract

$48–$52 per hour

Benefits Available Day 1

PTO + Paid Holidays


Reporting to the Senior Engineering Manager in IVS, this role supports the department’s mission to design and evaluate the next generation of Automated Driving Systems (ADS) for vehicles.


What You’ll Be Doing

  • Work alongside ADS development engineers to design ADS systems and software logic in C/C++
  • Develop logic through requirement creation, logic confirmation/testing, and integration of safety concepts
  • Lead the DRBFM review process to proactively identify and mitigate failure modes
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to ensure timely task closure
  • Maintain comprehensive tracking systems for internal action items
  • Serve as a key liaison with external stakeholders
  • Oversee software integration to ensure alignment with system and safety requirements
  • Identify gaps in processes and propose sustainable improvements
  • Hands-on coding responsibilities


What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related field
  • Experience in systems-level engineering roles, including DRBFM and requirement management
  • Background in the automotive or similar technical industry
  • Experience writing specifications, requirements, and software documentation
  • Software development experience in a collaborative team setting (PRs, peer reviews)
  • Knowledge of CAN/LIN/Ethernet protocols
  • Strong understanding of software principles and integration
  • Excellent communication, organization, and negotiation skills
