Pay: $105,000–$120,000/year

Position Summary
We are seeking a design-focused Automation Engineer to support the development of custom automation systems. This role combines electrical design, programming, and hands-on build work, with a primary focus on design.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable working independently and contributing across multiple phases of automation projects. This is a remote/hybrid position with occasional travel required.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
- Design electrical systems for custom automation equipment and solutions
- Develop and support PLC programming, primarily using Allen-Bradley platforms (Siemens experience is a plus)
- Collaborate on system builds and assist with hands-on integration when needed
- Troubleshoot and debug automation systems during development and commissioning phases
- Support system testing, validation, and commissioning activities
- Work cross-functionally to ensure designs meet project requirements and timelines
- Contribute to continuous improvement of automation processes and system performance
Qualifications & Skills
- 5+ years of experience in automation engineering preferred
- Open to candidates with 1–2 years of experience with strong hands-on electrical design capabilities
- Degree not required
Technical Experience:
- Strong electrical design experience (top priority)
- Experience in at least two of the following: design, programming, or build
- PLC programming experience (Allen-Bradley preferred, Siemens secondary)
- Exposure to Maple Systems and Automation Direct – preferred
- Experience with debugging, troubleshooting, and commissioning automation systems
