Maintenance Engineering Technician

Position Overview

Our client is seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineering Technician to support machine setup, improve operational availability, and troubleshoot complex technical issues within a manufacturing environment. This role will also play a key part in supporting capital projects from planning through start of production (SOP).


Key Responsibilities

  • Test and repair electrical equipment and systems (circuits, relay logic, wiring, motors, servo drives)
  • Program, troubleshoot, and repair PLCs, robotics, cameras, and other electronic systems
  • Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic, pneumatic, and safety systems
  • Support machine integration into production, including leveling, adjustments, and quality confirmation
  • Execute problem-solving initiatives to improve safety, quality, and productivity
  • Develop and manage detailed schedules for assigned projects
  • Participate in project planning with Engineering teams
  • Support machine production trials (internal and vendor-based)
  • Ensure equipment safety compliance (NFPA79, ISO standards)
  • Document work performed using electronic and written methods


Required Qualifications

  • Industrial maintenance or equipment installation/debugging experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong electrical and/or mechanical systems experience
  • PLC programming experience (read, write, and modify logic)
  • Experience with servo motion controllers
  • Experience with relay logic, wiring, and troubleshooting
  • Robotics programming and troubleshooting experience
  • Hydraulic and pneumatic troubleshooting experience, including schematic reading
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and shutdowns as needed
  • Ability to travel up to 30% (domestic and international)


Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate degree (or higher) in a technical field or equivalent experience
  • Experience with pre-production setup and new plant launches
  • Knowledge of production processes (Standardized Work, Job Instruction Sheets)
  • Experience analyzing quality data from multiple sources
  • Experience in high-volume or clean room production environments
