Position Overview

We are seeking an Emissions Test Technician to join our team in Ann Arbor, MI. In this role, you will set up, operate, and maintain test vehicles and equipment in accordance with engineering work requests and industry standards. You’ll work in a dynamic, hands-on environment, supporting emissions testing and ensuring high-quality, accurate results.


What You Will Be Doing

  • Set up test vehicles on a chassis dynamometer using standard processes.
  • Operate chassis dynamometers and emission analyzers per engineering requirements.
  • Drive test vehicles on chassis dyno using prescribed test traces or as directed by engineering staff.
  • Handle particulate filter measurements in a clean environment.
  • Support daily test scheduling and coordinate with the engineering team.
  • Maintain test cell organization and cleanliness.
  • Participate actively in safety and quality initiatives.
  • Work in cold and hot test chambers (-35°C to 50°C).


Requirements

  • High School Diploma required; Associate’s degree or trade school preferred.
  • 2+ years’ experience with emissions testing, including EPA drive cycles (FTP 75, US06, HFET), analyzer setup, and chassis dynamometer operation.
  • Strong safety mindset in all work activities.
  • Clean driving record (Motor Vehicle Report will be run).
  • Must be able to train on 1st shift (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM) for the first two weeks.


Preferred Skills

  • General automotive repair experience.
  • ASE Certifications.
