PRIMARY FUNCTION:
The Residential Roofer is responsible for completing residential roofing work, including new installation, full re-roofs, roof repairs, and roof modifications.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform residential roofing, retrofitting and re-roofing projects, including tear-off and installation of shingle, tile, foam and flat roof systems.
- Conduct site evaluations and identify necessary roofing repairs or enhancements.
- Ensure any roof penetrations are properly sealed and meet code and quality standards.
- Complete roofing repairs including leak repairs, damaged flashing replacement, and underlayment replacement.
- Execute roof modifications as needed, ensuring they meet structural and waterproofing standards.
- Maintain a clean and safe job site throughout the duration of each project.
- Ensure all roofing work meets local code requirements and Harmon’s quality standards.
- Document all completed work using photos or reports as required.
- Communicate effectively with the Roofing Supervisor and other team members.
- Provide high-quality craftsmanship while working efficiently to complete projects on schedule.
- Support roofing warranty and repair calls when assigned.
FUNCTIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of 3 years of residential roofing experience (shingle, tile, flat roof preferred).
- OSHA 10 Certification (OSHA 30 preferred)
- or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Strong knowledge of roofing systems, materials and repair techniques.
- Basic understanding of blueprint reading and schematics.
- Proficiency in using hand and power tools required for the position.
- Ability to work on steep and elevated surfaces in various weather conditions.
- Comfortable with ladders, scaffolding, fall protection, and rooftop mobility.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Must be organized, safety-conscious, and focused on quality workmanship.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to lift 75 - 100 lbs unassisted.
- Must be able to work 40+ hours per week as needed to meet job deadlines.
- Must be able to bend, kneel, climb, and work in confined or elevated spaces.
