Tax Supervisor Accountant


Location: Madison or Brookfield, WI (Hybrid Option) or Fully Remote

A forward-thinking public accounting firm is seeking a highly skilled Tax Supervisor Accountant to lead client engagements, manage staff, and deliver expert tax compliance and advisory services. Key Responsibilities


·      Supervise the preparation and review of complex federal and state tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and trusts

·      Manage client relationships and serve as a trusted tax advisor to business owners and high-net-worth individuals

·      Lead and mentor staff accountants and seniors on engagements, providing training and performance feedback

·      Conduct tax research and provide practical recommendations on technical issues

·      Ensure tax projects are delivered on time, accurately, and within scope

·      Monitor tax law changes and ensure team compliance with current regulations

·      Collaborate with leadership on improving processes, client service strategies, and team workflows


Qualifications


·      CPA license or EA designation required

·      6+ years of progressive public accounting experience, including staff supervision and client management

·      Extensive knowledge of federal and state tax laws, with emphasis on pass-through entities and individual taxation

·      Strong communication and relationship management skills

·      Proficiency with professional tax software (e.g., UltraTax, ProConnect, CCH Axcess) and cloud accounting platforms (e.g., QuickBooks Online)

·      Experience with remote or hybrid team environments is a plus

·      Comfortable managing multiple projects and deadlines in a dynamic firm setting
