Wipfli is assisting our client, Partners Bank of Wisconsin, with the recruitment of a Senior Lender. The Senior Lender will play a key leadership role in the Bank’s commercial lending operations, with responsibility for business development, portfolio management, and building long‑term relationships with business customers. This position will collaborate closely with executive leadership to support loan growth, credit quality, and the Bank’s continued financial strength while upholding the customer focused culture that defines Partners Bank.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Model the Bank’s values and commitment to relationship based, community focused banking
- Evaluate loan applications by analyzing financial information, credit history, collateral, and overall risk.
- Structure, negotiate, and approve loans within established lending authority and Bank policy.
- Manage and monitor assigned loan portfolios, including renewals, covenant compliance, and collection of past due accounts.
- Partner with credit administration and loan operations to ensure efficient underwriting, documentation, and servicing.
- Prepare and present loan requests and portfolio reports to the Officer Loan Committee and/or Board of Directors.
- Ensure compliance with lending policies, documentation standards, and applicable federal and state regulations.
- Support sound risk management practices, including maintaining asset quality, risk ratings, and adherence to the Bank’s risk appetite.
- Stay current on lending laws, regulations, and government loan programs (e.g., WHEDA, FSA/FMHA, VA, SBA).
- Develop new business relationships through prospecting, referrals, cross selling, and community involvement.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to customers by providing guidance on business and financial matters.
- Participate in Bank committees, strategic planning efforts, and special projects as assigned.
- Supervise, mentor, and support lending staff, including hiring, training, performance reviews, and professional development.
- Support Bank operations and customer service needs across departments as necessary.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 5–8 years of experience in commercial and/or consumer lending, with demonstrated responsibility for credit analysis, loan approvals, portfolio management, and customer relationship development.
- Prior experience working with loan committees, regulatory compliance, and problem loan management preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to professionally represent the Bank.
- Thorough knowledge of lending practices, regulatory requirements, and compliance standards.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment, maintain effective controls, and uphold Bank policies.
- Strong organizational and customer service skills, with the ability to support departmental needs and contribute to community involvement.
- Reliable attendance and flexibility to support the responsibilities of a senior leadership role.
