Summary of Responsibilities 

In this role, you will manage day-to-day accounting work for a portfolio of business and individual clients, including month-end close activities, reconciliations, and ongoing client support. You’ll be responsible for organizing and prioritizing your workload, meeting monthly and quarterly deadlines, and communicating regularly with the accounting and tax teams to keep work moving forward. This role requires comfort working across multiple clients, strong attention to detail, and proactive communication to ensure accurate, timely results—particularly during peak periods.  

 

Essential Functions 

  • Manage accounting work for multiple clients simultaneously across different industries 
  • Review daily emails and workflow tasks using the firm’s client and workflow management system (Canopy) 
  • Perform month-end accounting activities, including reconciliations and adjusting entries 
  • Complete assigned monthly, quarterly, and ongoing accounting tasks based on client timelines and financial deadlines 
  • Prioritize and organize workload independently, creating an effective workflow to meet deadlines 
  • Communicate regularly with the accounting and tax team regarding progress, challenges, and support needs 
  • Proactively notify team members when assistance is needed or when deadlines may be impacted 
  • Support tax season efforts, including assisting with gathering tax documentation and completing assigned tax-related tasks 
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and high-quality work while managing increased workload during peak periods 
  • Uphold professional integrity, accountability, and clear communication in all client and internal interactions 

 

Education, Experience, and Skills Required 

  • 3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a CPA firm or multi-client environment, including month-end close, reconciliations, and adjusting entries 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred, but not required; equivalent professional accounting experience accepted 
  • Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals, including debits and credits, with the ability to deliver accurate, timely work 
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks Online and familiarity with workflow or client management systems (e.g., Canopy or similar platforms) 
  • Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines simultaneously, prioritize work independently, and adapt during peak periods such as tax season 
  • Clear, consistent communication with clients and internal teams, ensuring clients are informed and work stays on track 


Compensation  

  • Hourly Rate: $25–$35 per hour, based on experience 
  • Employment Type: Full-time, hourly (overtime paid during tax season)
