Materials Management Technician (Warehouse Manager)

Summary of Responsibilities

As our Material Management Technician, you will be the central hub for everything that comes in and out of our warehouse. You'll manage the complete lifecycle of materials—from ordering and receiving to inventory tracking and deployment to our installation crews. This is a hands-on role with real ownership. You'll work closely with project managers, technicians, and vendors to ensure our teams have what they need, when they need it. 

Compensation

• Pay: $22 – $30 per hour (depending on experience)

Essential Functions:

Procurement & Ordering 

• Place purchase orders with established vendors 
• Research and recommend new suppliers when needed 
• Assist project managers with sourcing materials 

Receiving & Inventory 

• Receive incoming shipments and verify accuracy against purchase orders 
• Log serial numbers and update project files 
• Maintain organized warehouse with labeled, accessible inventory 
• Track tools, equipment, and installation kits 

Job Preparation & Deployment 

• Pull and stage materials for upcoming projects 
• Prepare job kits for technicians 
• Occasionally deliver materials to job sites using company truck 

Returns & Surplus 

• Process returned materials and restock usable items 
• List and sell surplus equipment on eBay/Marketplace 

Process & Organization 

• Maintain inventory spreadsheets (Excel proficiency required) 
• Suggest improvements to warehouse layout and systems 
• Keep the warehouse clean, safe, and organized 

Education, Experience, and Skills Required 

• 1–3 years in warehouse, inventory, shipping/receiving, or procurement support 
• Experience with Microsoft Excel (spreadsheets, data entry, basic formulas) 
• Clean driving record (occasional deliveries in company truck) 
• Highly organized and detail-oriented 
• Clear communicator—comfortable talking with vendors, technicians, and office team 
• Self-starter who takes ownership and doesn't need constant direction 
• Reliable and dependable (stable work history)
