Summary of Responsibilities 


The Interior Designer will lead the design vision for high-end residential remodeling projects from initial client meetings through design development and construction handoff. This role’s responsibilities begin with pre-contract sales meetings to establish scope and begin collaboration on the project vision, stewarding the prospect to become a client. Then the Designer guides clients through design decisions, coordinating closely with estimating and production teams, and ensuring designs are thoughtful, buildable, and aligned with project budgets and schedules. The Designer will act as a key collaborator and leader within the design-build team, supporting smooth project execution and a strong client experience. 

 

Essential Functions 

 

  • Lead clients through the design process from initial meetings through finalized selections and approvals 
  • Develop space plans with engineering as needed, elevations, and design concepts in coordination with draftsperson that are functional, buildable, and aligned with project budgets 
  • Specify and coordinate all interior finishes, cabinetry, lighting, plumbing fixtures, and related materials 
  • Create and review electrical and lighting plans in coordination with drafting support 
  • Collaborate closely with estimating to align design decisions with scope and cost during preconstruction 
  • Coordinate with production teams to ensure clear design intent and smooth transition into construction 
  • Participate in key jobsite meetings to support layout decisions, finish coordination, and issue resolution 
  • Maintain accurate documentation, selections, and approvals to support team communication and execution 


Education, Experience, and Skills Required 


  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field 
  • 5+ years of residential interior design experience, preferably in design-build or remodeling 
  • Strong skills in space planning, finishes, cabinetry, and lighting/electrical planning 
  • Confident client-facing communication and collaboration across design and construction teams 
  • Proficiency with Chief Architect (or similar), Google Workspace, and Buildertrend 


Compensation 

  • Total Compensation: $110,000–$150,000, depending on experience and impact.
