Summary of Responsibilities 

As our remote Insurance (Billing) Specialist, you'll be the backbone of our clients' revenue cycle—submitting insurance claims, posting payments, and following up on outstanding balances so dental and oral surgery practices can focus entirely on patient care. 

Essential Functions 

  • Claims & Payments: Submit daily insurance claims, resolve electronic rejections, and accurately post insurance payments, adjustments, and deposits. 
  • Follow-up & AR: Research outstanding claims, contact insurance carriers, manage accounts receivable (aging balances), and prepare appeals for denied claims. 
  • Client Communication: Respond to client emails/Teams messages, send daily completion summaries, and participate in client review meetings. 
  • Weekly Admin: Pull Electronic Funds Transfers (EFTs), prepare paper forms for clients, and perform routine system maintenance (restarts). 
  • Physical Demands: Extended periods of sitting, extensive computer/keyboard/mouse use, frequent phone conversations, and occasional lifting up to 10 lbs. 

Education, Experience, and Skills Required 

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's degree preferred). 
  • General computer proficiency – must be comfortable navigating File Explorer, browsers, and multiple windows/tabs. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word. 
  • Ability to manage two computer environments simultaneously (your own PC + a client's remote desktop). 
  • Experience as a bookkeeper, administrative assistant, office manager, or in dental or oral surgery setting is a plus. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and self-motivated. 
  • Reliable high-speed internet connection. 

Compensation  

  • Competitive Pay – $18/hr during training, target $20/hr after 3 months 
  • Year-End Bonus
