General Manager (Manufacturing)
On-site | Atlantic City, NJ & the Greater Philadelphia Area
A privately owned, growth-stage manufacturer of custom plastic components is expanding its leadership bench. They are investing heavily in process automation and new product launches and need a data-driven General Manager to take full command of a flagship site serving blue-chip medical, consumer, and industrial customers. This is a high-visibility role with direct access to executive leadership and a clear runway to multi-site or corporate responsibility as the organization scales.
What You Will Do
- Direct end-to-end site operations—including production, quality, maintenance, supply chain, and EH&S—to meet daily output and long-range strategic goals.
- Own the plant P&L, translating key financial levers (labor efficiency, scrap, conversion costs) into actionable performance plans that protect margin.
- Champion continuous-improvement and Lean initiatives that deliver measurable cost, quality, and uptime gains; track results through rigorous KPI dashboards.
- Recruit, coach, and empower a cross-functional leadership team while fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and operational excellence.
- Partner with corporate executives to align site resources with growth objectives, capital projects, and new-product introductions.
- Serve as the public face of the facility during customer audits, executive reviews, and community outreach.
What You Need to Succeed
- 10+ years leading multi-shift manufacturing operations (plastics, packaging, or other high-volume process environments) with full P&L ownership.
- Demonstrated track record of hitting or exceeding cost, quality, and delivery targets through Lean / CI toolkits (Kaizen, Six Sigma, SMED, etc.).
- Financial fluency—able to discuss labor absorption, yield losses, and ROI of capital projects with C-suite stakeholders.
- Leadership style that is simultaneously hands-on and strategically minded: visible on the floor, credible with engineers, and persuasive in the boardroom.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Operations Management, or related discipline; MBA or Six Sigma certification a plus.
Why Apply?
- Full ownership. You will be entrusted with the complete P&L and the authority to drive change.
- Executive access. Report directly to senior leadership and influence company-wide strategy.
- Growth trajectory. The site is earmarked for significant capital investment, offering rapid career advancement.
- Impact. Your success will be measured in clear metrics—EBITDA growth, productivity gains, and reduced waste—giving you an outstanding story to tell.
Qualified leaders who thrive in metrics-driven environments are encouraged to apply. All inquiries are held in strict confidence.
