Accounting Manager

A growing professional services firm is seeking a Accounting Manager to step into a highly visible role at the center of its finance operations. The Accounting Manager will take ownership of core accounting activities in a fast-paced, service-based environment. This person will help ensure timely close cycles, accurate reporting, strong reconciliations, and dependable financial support for day to day operations. The role suits someone who is comfortable working independently, managing priorities in a lean team, and improving how accounting gets done.

Key Responsibilities

• Own month end close, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation for a lean services business
• Manage contractor and vendor payment flows, maintaining accurate records for 1099 activity and related reporting
• Monitor billing, cash application, and revenue tracking across client engagements
• Strengthen internal controls and improve accounting workflows in a growing, process building environment
• Partner with leadership on forecasts, ad hoc analysis, and operational reporting that supports business decisions
• Coordinate audit and tax support, organize schedules, and help maintain GAAP compliant records
• Mentor developing accounting talent and serve as a dependable day to day accounting resource

Preferred Background

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Five or more years of progressive accounting experience in a hands-on environment
• Background in professional services, consulting, legal, or other billable hour environments is especially valuable
• Advanced Excel skills and confidence working in ERP or cloud accounting platforms
• CPA or CMA is welcomed but not required
• Strong judgment, follow through, and the ability to operate independently in a lean team
