Manufacturing Quality Inspector
Location: On-site in Phoenix, AZ
A growing manufacturing operation in Phoenix is expanding its quality team and seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Quality Inspector with experience inspecting mechanical components in a production environment.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys practical inspection work, dimensional measurements, mechanical problem solving, and working closely with production teams to maintain quality standards across high-volume manufacturing operations. The right person will thrive in a fast-paced environment, work alongside experienced cross-functional teams, and play an important role in improving product quality, consistency, and throughput.

What You Will Do
- Inspect cast housings, gear trains, shafts, drums, and hydraulic control components after teardown and wash for cracks, wear, distortion, and reusable condition.
- Use micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and dial indicators to compare parts against dimensional standards and internal acceptance criteria.
- Decide whether material should be released for reuse, routed for repair or machining, or removed from circulation.
- Document findings in the production system to support traceability, throughput, and trend analysis.
- Partner with teardown, machining, assembly, and technical teams to flag repeat failures and improve process consistency.
- Maintain gauge readiness by verifying calibration status and proper tool handling.
- Keep the inspection area safe, organized, and aligned with plant housekeeping expectations.
What You Bring
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Two or more years of experience in quality inspection, mechanical repair, machining, manufacturing, or a related environment.
- Hands-on experience with automotive components, mechanical assemblies, or industrial inspection workflows.
- Confidence using precision measuring tools and interpreting dimensional requirements.
- Ability to read and interpret work instructions, dimensional standards, and inspection criteria.
- Comfortable using basic computer systems for tracking, recording, and status updates.
- High attention to detail, sound judgment, and dependable follow-through.
Physical and Work Environment
- Ability to stand, bend, reach, and move throughout the shift.
- Comfortable in a fast-moving production setting with regular standing, lifting, and hands-on part handling.
- Ability to work around industrial equipment, shop noise, fluids, and routine manufacturing activity.
